The weather hasn’t been too nice. Mostly rainy, so we are pretty much always indoors. Maisie and I get out and go the gym a few times a week and Wes tries to get to the gym every once in awhile to play basketball. We also hang out with friends and get coffee. Last week Maisie dumped my mocha on me and herself while we were at Starbucks with Kirsten! It made a mess, but thankfully didn’t burn us. We are pretty busy at church. I help with the kids on Sunday once a month and take photos of church happenings pretty often. I’ve had a busy month of photography! My website was launched at the beginning of the month (check it out! – www.LesliePeterPhotography.com) . I set prices for my fine art prints and that took FOREVER! I don’t like that aspect of the job too much…the math part. I have been posting updates to things on Facebook, and forgot about this blog. Sorry!

Maisie is crawling all over now and pulls herself up on low things, so I did a little baby proofing today. Wes has cords running along the baseboards all over the house and she LOVES to pull on them. That’s been the trickiest thing to baby proof so far.

  • crawling
  • finding fuzz and eating it
  • trying new food. They’re all yummy except chicken noodle soup and broccoli…
  • clapping and waving (on her own terms)
  • saying mom(when she’s upset) and dad (it’s been a month)
  • pulling up on things. The first time she did it was while she was skyping with her grandma and grandpa Peter!
  • favorite toys: paper/plastic cup and a shoe
  • favorite show: this is one of the only things that she has seen. She doesn’t have much screen time- mostly it’s just skyping.

December: We celebrated Christmas and New Years in Illinois with family. We miss them all and are ready to see them again!

January: Wes took the month off of work for paternity leave which meant we spent many days sleeping in and staying up late and have had trouble getting back on a normal schedule since. We had a week of heavy snow and ice that left us stuck at home for awhile, but when the power went out the Walter’s came to our rescue with their four wheel drive car and we spent the night at some other friends house with power. The day the snow melted we packed up our things and drove along the Oregon coast to San Francisco! We had great weather and saw SO many beautiful sites. We stopped at the Redwood forest and Napa Valley. Maisie did great in the car. Her favorite toy is a paper or plastic cup, so as long as we picked one up for her from each place we had lunch or coffee at, she was happy! She started saying da da during our trip. We also found out that five of our very good friends will be getting married in Illinois this summer! We are SO happy for all of them and sad that it won’t work out for us to go to all of them. We will have to figure out what we can do soon. We wish we could celebrate each one of their special days with them Sad smile

February: Wes went back to work and Jill and Grandma Rabe came for a weeklong visit. We did all kinds of touristy things and lots of shopping. Maisie got her two bottom teeth in and started saying mom! She rolls all over the place and rocks on all fours. If you tell her to clap she will! She is eating all kinds of solid foods now. She loves everything we give her…except broccoli. This month I have been working bit by bit on my website where I will be selling images that I take. I will post it here when it launches- very soon!

We miss our family and friends and wish we could share these things with you in person and not on a blog! Hope you are all doing well!

For now, here is the latest picture of Maisie Grace! She is 7 1/2 months old! She claps when you do, rocks on all fours, rolls all over, feeds herself sweet potatoes, says “da da”, and now sleeps on her tummy in the crib without white noise! Oh! And look at those two front teeth!

Wes is taking his paternity leave (a whole month!) from work and Maisie gets to meet all kinds of family for the first time in Illinois!

I’m looking forward to a break from editing photos. I’ve been pretty busy doing photo shoots the past few months so it seems that all I do is edit photos when the baby is sleeping. I’m sure we’ll come home from Illinois with tons of pictures to go through, so I can start all over again!

Maisie is 24 weeks old. She loves bath time. Mainly because she gets to chew on her rubber ducky.
