Maisie is 16 weeks old and just started rolling over today! The one on video is daddy’s first time seeing it! She has also started grabbing her feet this week. There is lots of orange in these pictures- go Illini!

She wants to show you her bald spot. She’s been working really hard on it-

She played so hard, she fell asleep-
It’s hoodie weather around here- rainy, windy, and just kind of icky. Twice today the sun came out and I got the baby all bundled and in her carseat/stroller … and it started raining again as soon as we stepped outside. Back inside we stayed.
This week Maisie had a little bit of a cold (runny nose and watery eyes), but was still a happy baby.

I have SO many good memories around going to the pumpkin patch each year. I’m pretty sure I’ve gone most of the years of my life. It started with my mom and sisters and then in college with big groups of friends and now with Wes. We always went to Curtis Apple Orchard (and pumpkin patch) which is kind of like an amusement park now with horse rides, multiple mazes, music stages, petting zoo, and delicious food. I remember when all it was was pumpkins, apples, kittens, cider and donuts. Last year we found a place down the road from our house that has pumpkins, a corn maze, and kiddie train ride. Hopefully one day it grow to the size of Curtis! For now, the replacement will have to do. This year we had fun hunting for pumpkins with Kent, Kirsten, and Greta.

This week I started putting Maisie on a schedule. I used the book Babywise to help me figure out how it’s done. It’s been wonderful! Prior to this week, Maisie would eat and then sleep and then play in that order and because I have to hold her upright for 30 minutes after she eats, she would just nap on me and I wasn’t getting anything done but holding Maisie (which I do love, she is so soft and squishy). Our new schedule (sleep, eat, play) is much better though because our day is much more predictable and she will nap in her own room so I can get things done.
Maisie is 13 weeks old (or 3 months)!

Maisie is 12 weeks old this week and I am realizing how awesome this blog will be to show her when she gets older. Each week she does something new and recording it here is much easier than in a book (in my opinion). Although I do have a super cute scrapbook to put pictures in that Katie made for her. There is something special about holding what your reading in your hands and not scrolling through it on a screen. I sure hope books don’t ever go extinct.
This week Maisie has started laughing big chuckles and she gets really talkative around 5 o’clock- just in time for daddy to get home from work. She is also staring to grab at things with her fists.
Maisie has also started sleeping in her new wedge. We strap her into it when she sleeps and it keeps her upright and comfortable throughout the night. Without it her acid reflux creeps up and we have a very fussy baby.

Here is Maisie before one of her walks this week. She spotted her first airplane today. She watched it fly across the sky-
The sun came out today (after a week of dreary days) so Maisie thought that it would be a good idea to take some pictures of her smile and bubbles.
She’s 11 weeks old today!

This week her vision has gotten a lot better. She tracks us with her eyes and follows us around the room. If she is crying, she will stop when she see’s us. We don’t have to pick her up every time.
I’m trying to make sure that we keep up with the blog so everyone can see how Maisie is growing. It’s been hot here and we’ve been pretty busy, so here she is worn out.
