We had a house full of happy babies last week (well, two babies). Aidan is growing so big and is such a sweetie and Maisie has been a new baby as of last Monday! We’ve made some changes to help with her acid reflux and it all seems to be working!
Here are some pictures from the week-
We made a trip to Seattle and a band was playing on top of the giant hill at Gasworks Park. 
Rebecca put a kite together-
We went to the Kirkland waterfront and listened to another band and got dinner-
We drove to Mt. Rainier on Friday and the babies did so well in the car for 5+ hours. The only time that they really cried was the last 10 minutes of the trip. We recorded a quick clip of them crying and it’s pretty funny!-

Maisie had her one month checkup this week and is at 11 pounds and she’s grown 1.25 inches.
Maisie has acid reflux, so she needs to be as upright as possible all of the time. If we lay her back, she gets really uncomfortable and you can hear the acid gurgling in her throat. Poor girl. This means that she wants to be held ALL day. Poor mama. I feel accomplished if I am able to get 10 minutes for a fast shower and super fast breakfast during the day. We can’t wait for visitors on Monday so there are more hands to hold her!
The last two weeks we have been challenged to figure out how to soothe Maisie. She could cry and fuss forever if we let her, but we’ve discovered how to calm her down and get her to sleep.
It’s a science and you have to follow each step precisely-
**Study carefully Katie, Rebecca, and Grandpa Muhr (they are coming to visit in a week!)
1. feed her
2. burp her
3. change her diaper
4. swaddle her
5. turn up the white noise nice and loud (we use apps on our phones…going sshhhhh as loud as we could was making us dizzy)
6. hold her upright on your chest
7. bounce, sway, and pat her
8. She will fall asleep almost instantly!
If you forget a step or do one out of order…you will have a screaming baby.
Since we discovered these steps, life is much more pleasant!
No pretty pictures today. If she’s awake, she wants to be held (see above) and I can’t take her picture and hold her at the same time 
We went for a walk with Kirsten and Greta yesterday-
When the sun comes out around here, so does my camera. I can’t help myself!
Seattle didn’t get the memo.
It’s been overcast/rainy/50ish degrees for days and days and days and days here! The weather people say there have only been 78 minutes of temps over 80 here this year. I keep seeing friends from home (on facebook) complain about the temps in the 90’s/100’s and I have to admit that I am a tiny bit jealous! Going to the pool sound like a lot of fun. I guess with a little one and no air conditioning, overcast and 50 is great, but I’m sure going to feel like something in my life is missing when winter comes and we didn’t even get a little summer. We’ll see what August has in store 
Here is the newest info on our sweet baby girl…
She is three weeks old today!
She now has a belly button!
She will not take a pacifier…we’ll just have to listen to her cry. No “quiet button” for us.
Her big activity each day is staring at the light that comes through the window. Today we actually had a bit of sun to help-
Maisie is two weeks old today. She is getting a bit rounder in the tummy and outgrowing her newborn clothes 
She likes to eat.
We’re doing well. Leslie is trying to adjust to 4-5 hours of sleep at night and naps during the day. It helps to remember that one day she will sleep through the night!
